Sunday Evening
My
Dearest Nick:
How nice your voice sounded, honey?
I’m very glad that you called me up, dear, for I’ve been wanting to hear you.
Now I know that you are fine. You sounded well, dear.
Honey, Ests went to Balt. this
morning. I got up and went to church. Called back, cleaned out the room, washed
clothes, and ironed. I pressed two pairs of slacks for one of the girls and
that took me ages, dear. When I finished, it was 5 o’clock. I got ready and had
dinner at the Aberdeen Rest. It was a chicken dinner, dear. Norma, one of the
girls, invited me to her room and we talked. She brushed my hair and helped me
wash it. I feel grand that my hair is clean.
Honey, when you told me you loved
me, I laughed so happily, dear, that made me happier than ever to hear you. I
love you too, dear, with all my heart. I miss you and miss you. Those three
little words, I love you, has done wonders to me, honey. I feel as if you are
here in my room. Wish it was true, honey. My bed is large enough for us, honey.
I love you, dear, very much.
Honey, don’t go in swimming yet. The
water is cold, dear. And you might get ill.
Honey, did you go up to your room
after you finished calling?
Honey, the Woors thinks they are
very superior to the Ciirlions. I didn’t want to say much, for the hall was
full of soldiers with their girls. I don’t want to join since I saw what these
look like. Honey, they all look Jewish and the make up they use.
I want the pass or furlough to be
soon, dear. I love you, dear, with all my heart. If this war would hurry and
end.
Honey, we would have a little over
350.00 in the bank but we withdrew a lot. I pay my rent by check, dear, but I
will stop. Mother told me not to send my money home this pay, dear, so the
money I withdrew to go home. I put back. I want to get my Dad a pair of shoes
this week, honey. Everything is ground, honey.
Goodnight, now, dear. I love you
truly. Take good care of yourself, honey. May God Bless You dear, always.
I send, by mail, all my love and
kisses to my dearest husband.
Lovingly
yours,
Rosemarie
P.S.
Sweet dreams, honey. I love you.
