Wednesday Evening
Sweetheart:
How
are you this evening? Did you work hard today, dear? What picture did you see,
honey? I’m fine, honey, and feel grand and happy. I came in about 45 minutes
ago, dear, and have washed my hair. My hair is combed, dear, and I have two
pigtails. I worked hard today, dear, but don’t feel very tired. Honey, after I
finished writing to you last night, I came ill. Oh, honey, your pass came in
time for us. I don’t have the cramps, dear, I feel fine all day today.
My
prunes are stewing for breakfast, honey.
Ests went to school at Wavre de
Grace, dear, and I am here in the room. Several girls were here gabbing with
me, honey, but left.
The
day was chilly, dear, for we had rain this morning. I wore my black skirt today,
honey.
Honey,
there is something I want to tell you. It is important, honey. I love you,
darling Nick, with all my heart. It’s with all, all of me, dear, that I love
you. I miss you, dear, very much.
Mrs.
Nicalosi took off again today, honey, she was ill.
She really looked bad, honey. I’m glad I don’t have sick spells like that.
Wish
you were here, honey. I’d like to sew more buttons or patch, honey. What are
you doing, honey? Have you received a certain black fountain pen, dear? Honey,
I forget to give it to you. I love you, darling Nick, very, very much.
Goodnight
now, darling nick. Take good care of yourself, honey, for I want you well. I
send all my love and kisses to you, dear. May God Bless You,
dearest Nick.
Goodnight,
honey.
Lovingly
yours,
Rosemarie
P.S. Sweet dreams, honey. Wish I could dream beside
you tonight, honey.
