Dear
Nick,
I tried to write before this, but [ever] since the
rain left us, I have done a great deal of work around the house, have the one
coat about on, and a few windows painted black. We also built the steps for the
front porch, and have one room furnished, with plaster loathe.
[I]Got my mastering out pay,
and have about one hundred and a half spent. [I] bought a rug for the living
[room], and a few smaller ones. [I] Also bought a buffet mirror,[and] spent twenty dollars for trailer gas, and mom needed
hay. Frank also wired [our] home for thirty dollars. So it went fast.
[I] went down
to see Ann two weeks ago, and everything seemed to be alright. We didn’t do any
planting, [but I] will [try] to get it in this week.
[My] Aunts were here Sunday, [but I] will elope for
this time.
So write
soon, and until we hear from you, the best of luck,
Love,
Mom, Pop, and [Frank] Deedee
