Thursday Evening
Sweetheart Mine:
Last
night when I wrote to you, I said that I’d get oodles of mail today. Darling, I
had two in one envelope and I was so, so happy. I read and reread my letter,
lover, and it was lovely. I’m glad I have Davis’ address, dear, [I] will
purchase a card along with a letter and mail to him. I’ll sign the card “Rose
and Nick” darling. How are you this evening? Did you have a hard day, mine
dearest? Honey, I wish I had Sunday with you for you did have it nice. I didn’t
do anything, dear, but help Ann with the baby. Soon, dear, I’m going job
hunting, as soon as I know how thing will be next month. I’ll do as you say,
honey, and not mention that “item of interest” again. You told me in last Sunday’s
letter, honey. Honey, I answered John’s letter and told him I couldn’t come for
certain reasons. I’m sure you know what they are, don’t you, honey?
Darling,
tell me something that I always and always want to heart. Sweetheart mine, I love
you with all my heart. Yes, as you said, honey, you know that I’ll always be
waiting and waiting for your return to be with me always. The war news gets
better each day and it can’t be too long for us, honey. The boys are playing
ball, dear, and I can hear them from my window. There they go, honey, for the
rain is chasing them aways. Yes, we were having rain all day today, dear, and I
should sleep well for the air is cooler. Also, if the pancakes don’t keep me
wide awake. I miss you, honey, so, so much.
We
are all fine, dear, and well. Patty is a good baby, honey. Guess what, dear?
The insurance man gave me a book on “Our Baby.” Hope I get to use it someday,
honey. It’s all wrapped up, dear, and won’t open it until.
The
pen I’m using now, honey, is the green one you gave me. It was in my Valise,
honey, and decided to see how it would write. Not bad!
Darling,
they had an article in the paper this evening that transportation and trains or
buses was banned for Sabar day unless it’s really necessary.
Honey, I’m very sorry that you got
soaked the night you and St. S. went into the desert. How long will couch be in
Baltimore, dear? I had a letter from Ests, honey, which was nice. She told me
to say “hello” to you. Her boyfriend from England requested a box of candy,
which she gladly mailed to him. She had a letter from Alan, dear, and he was
doing combat duty. Ann had two letters from Charles, honey. He told her to get
me a nice gift. Do you know what I asked for? A white bedspread, dear, with
white bubs. I want it for our bedroom suite, dear. When I or we get our suite,
dear, do you know what I will do? I’ll make drawings on each item with full
descriptions and mail to you. Now if I had films for our camera, honey, I’d
take pictures in the furniture store. Waved they let me do it, dear? We want a
bed, chest of drawers, dresser, night table, lamps, and vanity with chair. We
want a good sized bed, honey, so we will be ever so comfortable. The chest of
drawers, honey, will hold all of your clothes, such as shirts, hose, hankies,
and underwear. We’ll have everything “just so” honey, won’t we?
It has cleared up again, honey, and the
boys are back again. It’s getting dark, honey, and they are still playing and
yelling “let’s go.” I like baseball, don’t you, honey? My brother, Alan, used
to play on the home team, dear.
Wish you could
be here, my dearest Nick, but that too will come. I love you and love you, my
precious darling, with all my heart.
I haven’t heard from home this week,
honey, but should any day now.
Honey, here is the plan of my room here:
Bed Door Porch Dresser Chair Door Heater Small Stand Chest of Drawers Rocker Wardrobe |
It’s a small room, dear, but very nice.
Darling, what are you doing this
evening? Did you get a very deep tow, dear? How’s John and the other boys?
Sweetheart, please take good care of
yourself for I always want you well. I send all my love and kisses to you,
honey. May God Bless You, darling, and keep you well for me. I love you,
darling, always with all my heart for you are my one and only, always. Goodnight,
darling, sleep well and have pleasant dreams.
Lovingly
yours,
Rosemarie
P.S. Love and kisses to you, honey. Wish I could fly
to you, honey and deliver real kisses. Bye.
