Sun-8:30 AM-
Dear Mother and Carsons,
Now that
you are all together I’ll make one letter suffice for all. There is nothing at all new to write about so
I hardly know how to start! Yesterday I
rec’d a V-mail from each of the family – something very strange, as you rarely
write V-s! Really, “us G-Is” hate them for the little they contain, but no
doubt you do too-?- most of the time we have so little to say that it’s a job
to even think of that much, and too, air mail usually reaches us much sooner
than V-‘s.
I’m feeling
fine and may go to church this AM for the first time in many weeks. I haven’t been out much, as a “shot” last
Sunday made me pretty sick for a day or so and I’ve been taking it easy this
week – I hope to attend the movie to-nite, which is a
“World Premier” of some picture – some pictures we see long before you do!
They took
another X-ray two days ago and found my chest much improved. The doctor said it isn’t serious at all and
that all I need is to rest and it will heal up OK. and
I’ve really been getting the rest! Yes,
it would be nice to end up at Mayor or Kennedy at
I hope Ray
got his new job and enjoys it. It must
not be much trouble to find a job these days and one to your liking. Much different from the days when I finished
school!
Well,
Mother, I guess you are resting up from the exertions of you’re recent visits,
aren’t you? I’m sure you had a big time
from the tone of you’re letters! No doubt
the first pretty spell will hurry you home to plant you’re garden now that you
are in hollering distance! Did Martha
ever get up there on her proposed visit?
Estes is beginning to talk “fishing + camping already! Joe wrote that he is in a hospital in
