Monday New Year’s Day

            Jan 1-1945

Hello dear Folks:

Just to say our baby is here in case you did not get word yet. Was born Saturday night [at] 7:15. Premature by a month. “Ronald Dickinson” it was too darn bad. However it was put in an incubator Sunday afternoon after having some kind of a little smoking spell. Dear little fellow.

I suppose that fall did it.

Grace is doing fine. It was a breech-birth I’m sorry to say. Seems it was in that position and that’s why she was uncomfy. Grace has her own nurse. And H. said the head night nurse was to be in charge of the baby last night. I’m anxious to get there. And will be there when she gets home.

I shall leave Saturday night or sooner if they need me. I imagine the baby will have to be in there for a month anyway. I’m glad Joy did not have to leave home. Harold is there this week. And that couple who is there are so nice. So between the two of them they can do very well.

Sure I’ll be there by the time H goes back to school. We are having another blizzard you ought to see it. Ben went into the office this morning by street car.  It’s no auto weather at all. Goodness knows when he will get home.

Well my dear, I hope you all have a grand New Year. I guess all any of us wants is this darn war to wind up. I’ll call you when I get in.

You might be able to come down if it is not too bad. You and Janice don’t take any chances though.

Bye-Bye now, much love and good luck for all.

                                                                        Lovingly Yours,

                                                                                    Patte
