Dear Dot and Dana,
Had it pretty easy today as this is liberty night. We have liberty every third night now.
I am not going to town tonight. In fact I haven’t been out since I went to palm beach two weeks ago. There isn’t much in town for me anyway. The beer is usually all sold out by the time we go in. there are so many sailors here they keep the town sold out of everything. This morning we had practice boat works and this afternoon we had physical training down by the beach.
I thought we were supposed to leave here about the 20th but I was talking to my Div. officer today and he said that it would be nearer the first of June. So you see I don’t know just when I will be through training here.
I got one of those Oakland banners today, there was quite a lot of news in it and the jokes were pretty good too. Hope I get one every month.
I got a letter from Charlotte today, she said Gram was feeling pretty good, but she never could get better. If I have a leave, I’ll want to see her before I go back cause if anything happens to her they wouldn’t let me come home.
How many more weeks of school has Dana got? Hope he is feeling all right now.
Don’t bother to send my any candy, save your money Dot. They have candy bars here.
Love and Kisses,
Beecher.
