73° P.M.

Dear Dot & Dana,

I didn’t get a letter today, but will try and write a few times just the same.

I had to work pretty hard today, in fact it was the hardest day of work I have done since I have been in the Navy. Ten or twelve of us guys had to unload several truckloads of canned foods. I just took a shower & changed my work clothes & I feel lots better now.

No darling, I haven’t seen any movie stars yet, but Bob Hope is going to be in town tonight. Wish I could see the show. I suppose I could if I wanted to go through the trouble of getting a pass but, heck with it, I haven’t been out for so long I am satisfied with the daily routine here on the base. Work during the day & at 5 o’clock we are allowed two bottles of beer & after chow maybe see a ball game then go to the movies. Glad you went down to Esther’s for a day, at least it was a little change for the day.

I might mention again that the next time I rate liberty I will have some small pictures taken for you.

It’s movie time now so I’ll be signing off.

                                                            Love & kisses,

                                                            Daddy

Please don’t worry about my behavior.
