Dear Dot and Dana,

Another day has passes and everything is fine with me.

I got three more letters last night and the swell birthday card that Dana sent. I had to laugh it was so cute.

But a sailor’s life now is quite a lot different than you think.

I am still wearing my rings, haven’t had them off since I left home. I guess they didn’t show up in the pictures.

By the way you write it must be a hot summer this year. Well, it won’t be long now, it will be so cold you can’t step out the door. Yes I send my clothes to the ships laundry and it only costs fifty cents a month. But I lose a pair of pants or something once in a while.

I also got the banner yesterday. Wasn’t that too bad about that O’Neil boy. He was the best one of the three.

I don’t think I told you but the candy wasn’t squashed or melted at all. It was swell, but don’t send any more.

Well dear, I am writing out on the deck and it is getting dark so I’ll have to stop writing. Be a good boy Dana and drink a lot of milk so those new teeth won’t be rotten when they grow in.

                                                Love and kisses,

                                                            Daddy
