Alton Geiger was a part of the 4314th Company, in the 412 Barracks, 4th Regiment, 16th Battalion at the U.S. Naval Training Station in Bainbridge, Maryland. He was made platoon leader by his Chief Petty Officer in June of 1943. He wrote to his sister and brother in law, who were living in Maryland at the time of his letter in 1943.
