Dearest Jimmy,
Well,
my mail situation has been looking a lot better recently. One
letter yesterday and valentine, and another one today. My mail is
certainly getting to you slowly. On Jan. 26th you mentioned
just getting letters I wrote around Christmas. Oh well, I s’pose
it doesn’t matter much so long as it does get there.
I
have just written to your mother. She sent me the clipping about your getting
the Air medal. I was real glad to get it because we don’t take the Richmond
papers - I didn’t even know about it until your mother told me.
Incidentally,
the letter I had today had the poem in it. It is real sweet and certainly has
our story down pat. You amaze me with all the poetic talent. You must have been
keeping it from me.
You
have two packages on the way now which I hope will get to you ok. One is candy
which may not be in such good condition upon arrival. The
other with scarf-ties. Hope you
like them all right - I had a hard time locating the ties but finally found
them in town. The scarf I got at our PX and it seems real nice and warm. Hope
it gets there before the weather turns warm.
Will
send the [candy] bars as soon as I can get them. It was raining so hard today I
couldn’t get to the PX.
Well,
dear one, it’s getting late so I’d better be getting my shuteye.
Miss
you and love you heaps.
All my love,
Elizabeth
