Quarry Camp, Aluvay

Dearest Mom:
I was glad
to hear that you dropped over to see Mrs. Ryan and Grace. It’s a real pleasure
to know that they are taking the death of Mr. Ryan with the true spirit of
Catholicity.
What’s this
I hear about the Plymouth
beginning to show its age by its continued failings? Is it as bad as Lillian
says or are there just minor troubles? If it ever seems that the car is getting
too expensive to keep up, sell it, but I hate to say that because I know that
automobiles are going to be very scarce for a couple of years and very
expensive. Maybe it would be better to hold onto the car. I’ll want something
to run around in when I get home and God permitting I hope that is soon.
I’m
enclosing one of the rosaries in this letter. Let me know when you get it.
God bless you, Mom,
Joe
