Dear Mary and all:
A few lines
this evening to let you know I’m swell and getting along fine. Hope this finds
all of you in the best of health. I spent five days in London not long ago and I had a fine time. I
stayed at the “Regent
Palace” hotel this time
as I couldn’t get in the Red Cross. It’s a very fine hotel and I really enjoyed
my stay there. Had a fine room and the bed was so soft that by the time I got
used to it, it was time to leave. Now I have to get
used to this hard bunk again. The maid came in every evening and pulled the sheets
down. Really a classy joint. Only had one short air
raid the whole time I was there so I was lucky on the point. Saw some German
prisoners, the first I’ve ever seen so far. They didn’t look like any supermen
to me. Saw some real good shows while I was there. Space is gone so I’ll close
for this time.
Love
to all
Roland.
