9th Army in Germany
Dear Mary and all,
Just a few more lines to let you know I’m well and doing fine. Hope this finds everyone at your home alright. Received your v-letter and enjoyed it a lot. I was very surprised by Rose Boller. What ever gave him the notion to bump himself off. He could have come over here and he could have saved himself the job. He would have found no trouble finding a way out here. I guess that has really made the tongues fly in Woodsboro. What do they call the theatre there? Still the opera house? Had a lovely day here today as the sun was out the whole time. Hope it continues this way. Hope by now Russell has received the package I sent him. Guy will probably get a kick out of it. Must close for now but will write more latter.
Love, Roland
