Dear Mary and all:

Received a v-letter and your X-mas package last week and appreciate it very much. It was a very nice gift and will be very useful. Would have liked very much to have been able to go hunting this year myself. Glad to hear Russell had such good luck. Is he going for class this year? Glad to hear Guy is getting along good with his school and that he likes it. We still have our mud here and it looks as though it will never clean up. I’ve never seen so much in all my life. Haven’t been on pass for a long time now and don’t expect any until sometime in December. Well space is gone so I’ll close for now.
