Dear Folks,
I am enclosing the money order which I attained today. Out here we haven’t very many places to get rid of money so it might as well be in the bank.
Today we had a little rain for the first time since we arrived. It only lasted fifteen or so minutes but it was a novelty. It had been very overcast all day so we weren’t too surprised when it happened. It was cool as well and didn’t feel much like sunny California.________ we have our stone going and it feels good. We also got a very good lantern today it throws off a very good light and we can read without any trouble. I will like staying home nights now- I can read and write letters as late as I want to. Now all we needs is a radio and it will be just the home. On the radio deal- one of the fellows is having bus rent out so that is taken care of too. It is a battery set you see and will play out here.
You need not get any candles now that we have the lantern. About the typewriter ribbon, we are supposed to get a new one in a few days- it was worn out long ago but we still use it. You ought to see the old colonel trying to read some of the letters we make out for him.
I’ll be very glad to get the Post regularly. I could buy it most of the time but every now and then I don’t see it for two or three issues. That is all I really want for Christmas- my needs are few out here.
There was a double feature at the movie tonight and I would have gone if it hadn’t rained. By the way it just started to rain again, not very hard but enough to make me stay inside. I’ll say goodby for now and close this little note.
