Dear Folks:

Here is your little boy once more to let you know that everything is still fine and I am feeling well. I wrote to you yesterday about my trip to London to see Dear Old Simpson so you probably know all about that by know. We had a swell time and it was sure good to see Eddie after these two years. I hope we can get together again some other time and have another reunion.

While I am writing this I am chewing on some of these candy kisses that you sent me in the first box of candy. I liked them a lot and the whole box was swell….those kisses and the taffe were especially delicious. I have not started to use the second box of candy as yet as I want to finish off the first box first.

Yesterday I received two more issues of the Saturday Evening Post…they are addresses to the old place though so they evidentially haven’t made the change yet. That makes four issues I have received so I will be getting caught up soon. We have plenty of good reading mater over here in our day room though so I am well fixed along that line. We have all kinds of magazines and a lot of these pocket size novels.

I will try and answer Tom’s letter today. He wrote me a V Mail letter yesterday and I want to answer him before I forget about it. I answered Walton last night so I am getting a little caught up after having those two days off in London.

I want you to tell me which you would rather I do……do you want me to write all the letters in capitals as I did yesterday or would you rather I double-spaced as I am doing today. I’ll do it whatever way is easier for you to read.

We had a movie at the NAAFI last night.. “Thank Your Luck Starts” which was pretty god. It was a musical and there were a lot of stars in it. Eddie Cantor was in it and he was funny for a change. Last week we had an Abbott and Costello movie and that was very funny I like Cotello a lot and he makes all of us laugh.

Did I tell you that Johnny Richie’s radio is back in good shape again? He had to get a new batter for it and now it runs very well once more. You can tell Mrs.Roche that he still looks good and likes to still dress well. He hasn’t changed very much from what he was like back on Madison Avenue.

Well there isn’t much more to tell so I will close now and get this in the afternoon mail. There wasn’t any incoming mail this morning but there might be some this afternoon. I should be getting that surprise I mentioned in about two weeks and you should have it in about a month.

Cheerio,

Joe

P.S. Did you ever receive that pen of Dad’s that I mailed about a month ago or the sketch I had made at the Red Cross?
