Dear loving,
Wife while
sitting here all sad and blue I thought that I would drop you a few lines to
let you hear from me. This leaves me well and I truly hope that this letter
will find you well. Dear, I received your two pictures and they are just fine.
You look so lovely. Baby, why did you go back to Norfolk, VA.?
If you keep paying train fair from one place to another you will never have the
money I ask you for. If you wait until I make all the time, I won’t need the
money. Now is the time I need it. Say Dear, I want you to see the lawyer and
discuss the matter over with him. Go and see him and find out what it will cost
for him to take up my care. You will find him at Attorneys and Counselors at
Law Board of Trade Building, Norfolk,
VA. MN. F.E.Kellam
and call for Floyd Kellam. Go and see him and see if he will take up my
care and find out when he can do it and what he will charge to get the other 5
yrs. off me, if he can. I will soon be able to come home to you. I will write
to Uncle Phillip next Sunday and ask him about it. Go and see the lawyer right
away and write me and tell me what he said. Baby, when you send the box please
send me a 25¢ box of Murry’s Superior Hair Dressing
Pomade. I can’t get any up here. I’m looking to hear from you at once. Closing
with a heart full of love and mouth full of kiss, for you and no one but you,
from J. Harrell to the one I love, Mrs Eva Harrell.
