Dearest Gay,
Monday again, which always means a busy day. We washed this morning and I ironed this afternoon. I didn’t write to you yesterday. There wasn’t any thing to write after writing you the long letter about my birthday on Saturday night. I just fooled around all day yesterday, until late in the afternoon when Gloria came out and took Mom and me for a ride. It seemed good to go for a ride and not do the driving. In the evening, we just sat around here. I got another birthday present today, and the baby got another present, too. They came from Janie, and I was really surprised because I got a card from her last Friday and didn’t really expect anything more. She sent me another one of those dusting mitts. I now have two. In my letter the other day I told you that I wouldn’t let you use the one Betty sent me, but this one seems to be a little larger. If you are a good boy and hurry home, I’ll let you use it. I got a letter from Elva Blaser today. She said Sam isn’t doing a thing except swimming, etc., of which he is getting very tired. He would like some work to do. She is still working, and said to tell you hello. Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to tell you what the baby present was. It was also from Janie. It was a darling little dress. The first one I have. That baby is going to have plenty of clothes.
Keep writing. Remember I love you. Love and kisses from your Doe.
