            Dearest Gay,

It’s wash day again and here I am, doing nothing, as usual, & knowing nothing, as usual. After I finished writing you last night, Harlan and Mary came over. They didn’t come until 10 and stayed until a little after 11. They are both looking good & we had a nice visit. Harlan sure is a big guy. You would really be surprised if you could see him. He always was tall and now that he has filled out he really looks big. Mary was looking good too. You can tell very definitely that she is pregnant. When I was as far as long as she is, no one could even tell I was going to have a baby. She has always been so thin though & I guess that is why. Thin people always show it quicker than a heavier person does. Mary is all over being sick. She said she thought the train might make her sick but it didn’t. Some people have all the luck. I’ve been sick from the very beginning & probably will be to the very end. Harlan said they made him take this 21-day furlough so he & Mary are sort of wondering. Tonight is the night that Gloria leaves for Boise. She is really excited but a little scared too. She thought it was terrible that you wrote to Jane & didn’t write to her so she is going to write you one of these days. I guess that is all for now.
