Dear Grandparents,
Just back from a
lot of hell again and received your letters and card today. I also received the
box from Aunt Virginia
and those bars really went good. Please don’t be mad at me because I don’t
write often. I answer as soon as we get back from giving the Japs their had. I don’t know why
Uncle Norman is beefing about being in Oregon
and him saying it’s the neck of the world. I sure would give anything to be
there. Out here you hardly ever see any civilization. Oh well you never
satisfied where your at in the service. What do you
think about Howard joining the Navy? Boy if I ever get my hands on that kid I’ll
break his neck. He must think it’s a picnic out here. It’s no use sending
anymore carmels because they just spoil from the heat
every time. I would like very much if Grann Pop could
get me a box of Choc. Cover Gram Crackers and send them to me. I am well and
resting up a bit. Well that’s about all the news I have so give my love to all
and write soon.
Your grandson,
Charles
