Summer September 24, 1944
Dear Grandma, Grandpa, and Family:
I guess all of you think that I have forgotten how to write, but I never.
I just don’t have very much time. We are working night and day. It’s been ages
since I’ve last had a letter from you or a letter from anyone. I guess it is
held up someplace. Things are going along pretty good over here, but the rain
and mud sure does get you. I hope to send you some pictures in this letter of
me. I’ll go see if they are finished when I’m done writing and it so I’ll put
them in here. We are building a house, four of us, and it’s pretty nice. It’s
all wood. It will be better than those old tents anyway what do you say. We
expect to move in next week. I don’t know if we’ll be here this winter or not,
it’s according to what the big boys say but we are taking any chances. So far
it’s only cost us two dollars a piece not bad is it. Haven’t done any traveling
since I returned from
Love,
Norm
