Dear folks,
I received your air mail letter today dated 16 Feb, 8 days. It was a air mail letter. It takes about 12 days for a V-mail letter and almost month for a regular letter. I like them all old or new, later or soon, just keep them coming. I read your remarks about my sea sickness, you can tell Lucille that she hasn’t been sick until she has been sea sick. I took quite a trip around the country today and saw a lot of France. It was very enjoyable, and quite enlightening. Tell Punch that compared with me, I bet him 10 Franc I was throwing it farther than he did. I hope Aunt Mary gets to feeling better. It seems strange that people should grow old. I never used to notice it, but I guess people do. Even I feel my age sometimes. This long hikes and heavy packs get me down after about 20 miles. I guess I’ll quit and come home to demand more wages. I need transportation from my work to quarters.
Your cynical son,
