Germany with 3’rd Army

Dear Folks,

Well I’ll try to drop you a few lines to let you know that I’m feeling fine. I received several letters from you today most of them were old ones, but they certainly were welcome, just keep them coming. You can send me some more candles if you want, also some kind of cookies that will keep. How about some Oatmeal cookies- will they keep. I received some mail from Lenore , and she seems to be getting along fine. Can you imagine my daughter taking piano lessons. It is too bad about Uncle Cliff, but I guess we would of all done the same if our feelings had been the same. The German people want the war to finish- Well you can bet there are a lot of Americans who want the same thing. I want to be where I dont have to duck every time I hear a plane or and explosion it is getting where it makes me mad, and someone is going to get hurt.
