Dear folks,
I know it has been quite a long time since you heard from me, but I’ve been quite busy, and I’ve been where it was impossible to write. The war is going all in our favor now and it won’t be too long until it is all over. I’ll be home for the quail season this fall, so have plenty of coveys spotted, because I want to getta little practice with my shooting eye Na! I had the privilege of helping liberate quite a number of our prisoners the other day. It was wonderful. Some of them had been in prison for 5 years. There isn’t much I can write, other than I’m feeling fine and I’m going to continue the same. I haven’t had a letter from you for over two week, so you see even your mail don’t catch up.
