Dearest
Ann:
I’m now a sailor for 2 days. Boy was I
sorry I was living this morning at 4:30 but at 6:00 in the evening I’m now glad
I’m living. I received all my clothes today and I’ll look good when I see you.
I expect visitors in about 4 weeks. My clothes are on the way home and a little
message is in one of the shoes and I really mean it. You really never
appreciate anything until you sort of lose it but I’ll be back to enjoy it and
real soon I hope. My mother has a letter also on the way, which will give you
the routine for today so please call her she’ll read it to you. I told her to.
I hope you had a very pleasant trip and did not have
any trouble with Leah Sr. or Jr.
Tonight I’m even dressed in puttier (we call them
boots.)
I was told I would not get submarine service as my
eyes are to bad.
I have some hopes when interviewed by the officer
here that I can persuade him he needs a good insurance man.
My address is now as follows:
John
H. Johnson Jr. A/S

Lover
