Darling,

Still clipping off letters to you every day. Know it never will catch up to you but there is no harm in trying. Wrote your Gram + the Aunts yesterday as well as you and Mom so taken I get Dad Goodwin’s letter + Herm’s letter written I will be even with all my correspondents.

We finally had a long-awaited mail call yesterday + I was the surprised recipient of 2 packages + 6 letters. One of the packages was from you. It contained a sweater of all things. Something more for my duffle bag but thanks anyway Darling. The other package puzzled me as it was a bottle of Letcro-lite cigarette lighter fluid. It was addressed to Sgt. W.K. Jones 6- Quincy Ace, Quincy Mass. That was on a typewritten label. On the box itself someone had written in pencil 393rd Engrs. You didn’t send it did you? Perhaps it was sent by the Lectro-lite factory themselves. Well whoever it was, I was happy to receive it.

Got quite a kick out of Ethel pestering you with questions on weddings + married life. Dimly I seem to remember an adorable little girl who was just as excited about her wedding. Perhaps she was a little more reserved + mature but still she was unable to completely stifle her emotions. I loved that girl as dearly + wholeheartedly as it is in me to love, still do + always shall. If Ethel can mean 1/10th to her Phil what the wonderful wonderful little one I am thinking of  means to her Warren she may consider herself  a perfect wife.

Darling, why don’t you wait until your old man comes home before you risk your lovely neck trying to master a bicycle. If you must I’ll do my best to try to show you how to balance your considerable weight correctly. However I have always adored my cute little slightly unbalanced spouse, just as she is.

You say you haven’t received any letters between July 2 + July 9. I do not understand that there were 7 letters written for the 7 days between those dates. Never at any time since I have started writing, except when we moved have I missed more than 1 day of writing to you. If you haven’t received them then they are lost as you feared. I don’t remember whether there were pictures in those letters or not.

Received a letter from Dad G. last nite + although it was brief it was very welcome. He does better than (damn it, I keep forgetting we both have 2 fathers now) Dad Jones. Never have received a letter from him since leaving the states. Oh well I try to mark it down as lack of time rather than lack of affection.

Give my love to our family.

                                                All my love,

                                                            Warren
