They really beat the hell out of your clothes and my clothes are beginning to show the effects. When you observe the tools and the manner in which these fellows go about their work you wonder how they manage to do anything. Not familiar with this process. Don’t know what they make this stuff out of but there are plenty of these shops around.

My Darling,

Have been starting off my letters with just Darling for quite a while and thought I ought to assert my possessive nature a little more by making it my Darling. (Before you correct me I know it is not correct to capitalize Darling but I think it emphasizes it a little more with a capital) Well anyway Hon I do love you and always shall. You’re so very sweet and dear to me. Has been an extremely hot and humid day and am running perspiration even now in the evening while writing this letter. Hope it is cooler over there in the tent so I can get some sleep tonight. The rains are supposed to stop by the end of this month and then September is the hottest and most humid and miserable of all the months. After all these hot months we have been through what an unpleasant thing to have to look forward to. However from October to the end of March it is supposed to get fairly cool. Learned all this from a Scottish fellow Captain Walty and I find he seems to be starved for the companionship and conversation of a white man. I find him very interesting and really enjoy talking to him. He has a pretty good home as they go in this remote section of India and perhaps I shall take him up on his offer and spend an evening with him. Believe he has a radio too or wireless as he calls it.

Well had my haircut today and had something done that I hope to be able to show you the results of soon. Was going to keep quiet about it but could not resist intriguing you a little but. Gosh how I love you.

Nice to hear that Elaine Hubbell is going to get a chance to see her husband again. She always impressed me as a very nice sort of a girl who got rather a tough break. You know Darling since I have been so happily married and even before when we were going together, I have become much more sympathetic and thoughtful of another’s woes. You certainly have a marvelous influence over me. To get back to the subject this will be just like starting all over again for them. As you say sweetheart how wonderful it will be when we meet again.

                                                                                                            All my love,

                                                                                                                        Warren
