January 15th, 1940
My little Thea!
Actually I wanted to send you a letter yesterday, but then I thought that I would get a letter from you today und I wanted to answer this letter immediately. Unfortunately I didn’t get a letter at the mail delivery, so I look forward for tomorrow. I hope you are not already frozen to death so that you can’t rub your finger any more.
The winter has come now, it has been cold for a while, but now snow has accrued. It would be great now to go skiing or sled somewhere. Here in the city is everything turning to mud too far!
It won’t be very cold in Braunschweig anymore. Maybe the spring is coming in February already. That would be nice, wouldn’t it? It would happen because of my good position at Petrus [God of weather] and because he wants to do a favor to us.
My darling, don’t forget January 29th, 1941 at 5.45 in the evening, Ferdinandbruecke. Otherwise I would have to call you and we would loose a day of my vacation. But we want to spend as much time as possible during the three weeks, don’t we? Three weeks of luck are ahead of us and I look forward to them more and more every day.
I’m always in love with you,
Your Georg
