Dear Mom & Dad,

I got a big thick letter today in the mail “The Tie.” I also got yours and I’m liable to take you up on calling you over the phone. You think of everything, I never would have thought of that.

Last night that guy from Roanoke and I went to a U.S.O. dance at Jacksonville. I had a lot of fun.

Well you and dad seem to be getting out right mush in upper class. Setting Mr. Daves take you to the movie. We have free movies here every night at 6 and 8 o’clock.

That cake got here and there wasn’t a crumb mashed, just like out of the stove.

Dad must have been pretty sick if he stayed in bed all day Sunday. Tell him he had better stay in the bedroom so Spot won’t catch it Ha! Ha!

Well I had better stop and get ready for bed. Tonight we had 2 training films and they take all our time at night.
