Dear Mom and Dad,
I have just got back from Jacksonville. I tired from 10 PM, till 2:30 trying to get you but couldn’t get through. Today the navy corpsman and I went to church in Jacksonville and it was pretty good. Then we went to the movie. I am writing this letter in the “head” because there are supposed to be any lights in our tents after “Taps”. I wanted to tell not to expect any letters from me this week because we are going on a five-day camping trip and won’t be able to write any letters out there in the swamps.
I got the picture O.K. you had it fixed up so good that I just sent it on the way it was.
Well I’m going to stop now and go to bed but don’t expect any letters from me till after I get back from camping in the swamp Saturday.
Tell Dad he should take Spot riding in the trailer.
With Love,
Your Son
Joe
