Back in
Dear Mom-
Well were back in
Your package arrived with the candy, peanuts and writing paper Im using the paper now Thanks a million I thought it would finally get here It takes time but the mail service is pretty good Your letters arrive pretty regularly now in about 12 days or two weeks which is pretty good service I hope my letters reach you too I had two letters from you yesterday and one from Elizabeth Dodsen, a girl I used to work with Oh yes in the package I received were some newspapers too I thoroughly enjoyed reading them right down to Betty Beys column which over here seems more idiotic then ever-
About the watch If they cost that much it would not be worth the risk Maybe I can get one ever here The watch I had went on the blink some time ago I wrote you about what to send in a Xmas package but it probably arrived to late for the regular Xmas mailing Maybe you can use it as a request however and send some of the things Use my money if you want but it is nice to have a package of candy or nuts or something every once in a while. A package doesnt last really long with a bunch of hungry GIs
Right here there was a pause of about 6 hours I went with the Jeep driver to try to locate a couple of radio speakers so we can have the radio heard in different places I also bought a reducer for my radio = to reduce the 220 volt current to 110 so I can play my radio Saw a good bit of the country too
Ill write again when I have a chance although we are in a rest period it looks as if well be busy tomorrow So long for now
Love
Jack
