Dear Mom-

I haven’t written for the past several days as there has been no time for it – In the past four days I’ve had some very exciting experiences. Perhaps later I’ll be able to write in more detail. Suffice to say now that the war drew very close to me – but I’m still fine and dandy – eating regularly and have a good place to sleep. This bunch of fellows I’m with is at its best in a tight spot. I have a great deal of faith in them. I believe we could pull through anything

Had a nice letter from Bobbie Gregory and a card from Marjorie Pierce. I ate the fruit cake that Tom and Virginia sent the other night and believe me it was most welcome at the time.

I’ll probably have more time to write within the next four days – write often and don’t worry everything is OK.
