Belgium

Dear Mom,

Just a line to say everything is ok—I went on a visit to Brussels day before yesterday—Had a nice time—visited around the town—saw some spots of interest.  Had about 8 hours in town—It’s nice to get a trip like that every once in a while.  I went on a visit to Liege the other day too.

I was so awfully sorry to hear of Uncle Ned’s death—I wrote you the other day when I got your letter—I still can’t realize that he is gone—

I guess maybe Gene is home by now enjoying his leave—Hope he gets to stay in the states for a while—I suppose he’ll get to see Paris and maybe they will become engaged again—

There is so little to tell in letters and of course we are limited as to what we can say—but I’ll keep writing to let you know that I’m ok and thinking of you all at home—

The matter of the allotment has not been settles as yet and the $22 is still being taken from my pay—I won’t be able to have the matter adjusted until the office clears it with the proper authorities—things like that move slowly in the army—but we’ll get it straight soon I hope—

Write often—send some of those servicemen’s news clippings from the News Leader–I enjoy reading them—

                                                                                                Love
