Well kid just got your letter of the 29 of Feb today.

So will answer it all up while I got the time.

So that’s the kind of an old battle ax you are. Giving the old man hell for going on a binge for us. Don’t you think the old boy is lost with all his pals in here. Hell the next time he goes keep that big mouth shut. A guy has to have a let down some time back there with all you old hens. haha.

Had a letter from Sis about her illness but I looked it over nine times and she didn’t say once what it was. haha So this letter lets the light in on just what she had. haha

You don’t have to tell her that, just tried to patch it up about that short note.

Glad to hear Madie was looking so good. She writes to me but never says a hell of a lot. So kind of keep me informed on how they are getting along. Is Ken growing any and getting any fat on him? The baby looks swell, just had a picture not so long ago. She sure takes damn good care of them.

About them candles, what the hell do you use them for? Haha Well I need them for the same reason. So send them also candy, cookies, cheese, crackers or sardines. You don’t have to send all this at once. But that stuff keeps good. Don’t send any thing in glass. It don’t stand the trip. Haha Hope the hell you get those cigs straight soon. Getting snowed under on this end. If only wishing this damn war would be over soon would do it. Well haha think it would be over long ago. But the way we figure it here well, we still got to get in there. Can’t win the damn thing in the bleachers. Have to go in and help the ram out a little. But don’t worry the Jerrys haven’t run into a Lavery yet. Haha So when I get up there you well know how modest I am. Haha

Hell I sent Marg $200 bucks and a request for the times papper. So she must have it by now. But you can send funny books if you want to. They go over bigger than any thing here. You see this stuff isn’t all for me, my squad shares it too. Haha

I think after this war you are going to lose Gordie. I think I miss him more than any of the kids. He shure as hell will be able to get any thing he wants from his Uncle Jimmie.

We seemed to hitch right from the start. He’s my best buddy, so don’t let any thing happen to him. That little boy he made up is the cutest thing I’ve heard yet.

That was pretty good about mag and the rice. You should have made up some kind of a recite. Then went out in a week or so and asked her how it turned out. Haha Boy would I like to have been there. haha

So Vin think its all so confusing. Well he ain’t got nothing on me, I think its all so amusing. Haha I hope to hell the big sop wises up soon. Hope to hell you didn’t take sides. Sent you a letter and I hope you got it.

Don’t worry about Ray-wish I was in there too. That’s about the softest branch of the whole shebang. The shots will do him more good than his panzy did.

Don’t belive all the papers write about this war. You have to be over here to know what is going on . Things are looking much better than they did. But it’s not over till the last shot is fired. So far nobody has found that last round. Haha Hope those peppole back home don’t slack up. This war is a hell of a lone ways from won.

Dot this isn’t only for my benefit but for those that have been in battle so far. Have the folks at home send those that have come home something. They are in hospitals in the U.S.A. Some of them need cheering up much more than we do over here. I don’t mean to have any one go there and feel sorry for them, they don’t want that. But there is a lot the people of Erie can do for them. Send Radioes, give them books so they can finish their Education, stuff like that. Bring it up at you next old hens meeting. The boys over here are tough as hell, we don’t need so much cheering up. Some of those will be blind so a good dog like they train would sure be a help. You can’t do this alone, but old Leaan Dryfuss should get it. Well I think it would wake the town up. If it starts there it will spread. If you use this recopy it. I write so damn bad I can’t read it myself. Haha Love.
