Dearest Darling,

This is Sunday and this place is quiet.  I was wondering if you are as lonely as I am.  One of the boys had a Camera, we took pictures all morning.

Louise they tell us we are going to Europe.  Moby I can see my brothers.  All three of my brothers are on the front lines.  One of my brothers thats in the parahoopers. Was one out of six not wounded.  In the whole 101st division.  He was lucky I think. I will be over there in eight weeks they said.  I can help get some of those sun’s of heaven that got his buddies.  Here is a picture I had taken this morning with one of my sixteen year old buddies he looks like it.

I just thought what were said about Dick, if he had got the Infantry.

Well I don’t know what they have done to me but I have got to liking the army life.  You don’t have any idea how bad I want to see you.  I didn’t realize I loved you till I got here.  I will be back home someday but there will be gray hair in my head.  But for innocent Americans like you is why we suffer, and do our job well.

I have got six more weeks before our furlough.  I hope to spend it with you.  Answer this letter if you aren’t working too hard.

                                                Love,

                                                Ikey

P.S. My G.S haircut is growing more.
