Hi Jack,
I received both your letter and your card and I was both surprised but happy to hear from you. So you got my address from “Toots”? Well he is one swell fellow! You can take my word for it that he is a fellow who you can trust. You know I like to write letters but I would like to know something about the person I’m writing to. So if you have no pictures how about a word description? As for my being attractive that is quite exaggerated. Although I know quite a bit of pretty girls in the city. Tell me are you new in the Marines Corp? And if you are how do you like it? How old are you and just tell me everything! Do you like bowling? That is one of my very favorite sports. I also like dancing and the movies. As for a picture of myself I must have one around and if I can I will send you one. O.K.? Incidentally that goes both ways.
Well I guess I will have to close because I haven’t much to write about until I hear from you and you answer some of my questions.
