Dear Jack

I received a letter from you about a week ago and have been thinking things over.

I think it is best the way you choose to do things.  From now on we will write just friendly letters, O.K.?  O.K.!!  Since you are so far away and we are so far apart it is the best way.  I take back nothing I have said.

I don’t remember whether I told you or not that I work on the fountain with Dot.  I like her a lot, gosh what fun on that fountain.  Right at the present time I am not working.  I have had a sore throat for 5 days, caught it from your sister.  The urge to kill.  I still have it so I’m going up to town to visit my dear doctor.  He’s solid!!

Haven’t seen Konie around recently but I know he’s in Virginia.  Jean received a letter from him.  I heard that A.C. and Konie don’ t think much of me!  Surprised me quite a bit since Konie sends his regards to me in Jean’s letters.  Oh well “live and learn” so they say.  That girl in Boston must have been a passing fancy.  A.C. has been in my Health End class all summer.  Do you know Bob Grainy?  Gosh what a temper he has, it matches his red hair.

School starts in a couple of weeks, that means I only get one week’s vacation.  I passed all my subjects but one last year.  That was Shorthand, I hate it but I was thinking about going to business school after I graduated. Have made no definite plans as yet.

Remember my sister Bobbie?  The one I said was an Evac nurse during the war?  Well she’s in California, getting married Sept. 21.

Boy is it hot in good old Port Ewen!!! Just when I feel miserable too, I wanted to go swimming tomorrow but I can’t because of this blasted throat.  I’m so mad I could scream!

Well how’s Jack?  What’s he been doing lately?  Holding back on me?  You promised to tell me all about China, where’s the pictures?  By the way I will send you a picture in about a week.  I just took some and they have to be developed.

Guess I better close, my bus leaves 11:04.

So, Long

Love

“Jackie”
