Dear Jack,
Well, here I am home in the city and believe me it feels wonderful to be back with all my friends.
Although I must admit the boys in
You said in your last letter that you still can’t dance. Well Jack, the next time I see you I will make it a point to see that you learn.
I’m so glad to hear you and your buddies liked my picture as I can’t do enough to please the marines.
School starts Monday and I will be so glad as I see every one in school.
By the way Jack, what do you intend to do when you return home from the service?
In your letter you asked what I meant by saying “Jackie looks as she always did.” I mean, simple, absolutely lacking in glamorous and definitely for the birds. I know she is a very nice girl though, I guess what’s wrong with me is that I’m so used to seeing beautiful girls (I don’t mean looking in the mirror either) that I just can’t see a girl who isn’t a little less than perfect.
Well darling that’s all for now so I sign off reminding you to look at me once in a while also sending my love (and give some to your lonely buddies)
And remaining
As Ever,
Elsie
