         Hello handsome,

I received your letter and was glad to hear that you were still alive. I think you have gained a lot of weight; at least you look heavier in your picture. I am having a wonderful time at school and hating the thought of leaving in June. I don’t know whether I will go to college or not as I cant decide what I want to be. I don’t think I am the house wife type or the motherly type. What do you think I am, Jack? I would like to make modeling my career, but that sort of thing never lasts. So I am really in a rut.

Bob Hansen is in the hospital as he hurt his leg on maneuvers, I write to him now and then. I think he will be alright, although he didn’t mention anything about it in his last letter.

Enclosed is the picture of the majorettes and naturally I am captain. We have a wonderful team this year, It really is a priveledge to march for them.

Please don’t think I really was wondering about Jackie as I think I am a little above that and consider myself above her. I may sound conceited, but when you stop to think, you have to admit we are two altogether different individuals. If you would like a picture of me in my majorette outfit, say so, and I will order one in school, as they are selling them for a memorial for the boys who died in service. Well, darling, I will sign off, sending my love and remaining,

As ever,

Elsie
