Dearest Jack,
I received your letter yesterday, which was Tuesday. Mother said she received it in the mail a few days before but forgot to give it to me so you can readily understand my tardiness in answering.
By the way you sound in your letters, it must be pretty rough down there. I think it’s disgraceful the way you fight amongst yourselves.
How is the girl situation down there? I guess it’s acute. I wish I were a nurse so I could come down and serve all you poor homesick boys ha ha
I’m, as usual, enjoying myself in school and out but the fever of the back to school feeling is wearing off.
I’m very busy strutting for all the football games all doing this and that.
Do you
remember Henry Schimdt (Beanie). He lived in Port Ewen
but then he moved to
I think of you a great deal Jack and often what you are doing?? I thought I’d let you know.
Well Darling that’s all for now so I’ll sign off sending toda me amor and loving you (all) with body and soul.
ha ha –
Love,
Elsie
