Dear Jack,

I was pleasantly surprised to hear from you.  In fact, I was flattered to hear that Mike still thinks so much of me.  He is rather serious but to me this friendship is purely platonic.  I just want to keep it as a beautiful friendship.  I’ve told him that a few times.  Matrimony is the farthest thought in my mind.  He is a swell guy and I enjoy corresponding with him very much for it’s interesting to write to people in other countries.  I used to do a lot of writing like that before but just don’t find the time now.  Just write a few letters.  My brother is in the Navy so naturally I write to him, Mike and you now.

I believe it would be nice to meet you.

Tell me more about yourself.  How old are you? Your likes and dislikes and I will do the same later cause now I’m so busy.  Have to rush off to school.

Enclosed is a snapshot I took recently.  It’s not so good but maybe you can figure out my likeness.  How about you sending a picture of yourself?  Eh.  Until we meet again I remain

A link in your chain of friendships,

Dottie
