Dear Jack,
How are you? I hope the shock isn’t too great. Imagine I’m writing to you more than once a month! I promised I would, and I like to receive letters so I’ll write more often.
Well Jack, I hope I made the situation clear when I explained to you what you couldn’t understand. Express your views.
Right now I’m listening to Red Ingle singing “Temptation” and “I love you for Sentimental Reasons.” If anyone ruins a song he does. Have you ever heard him?
Oh! Did Rockie tell you? He and Madeleine are planning to be married in the early part of next year. Does he ever talk about her at camp? What does he say about her? What was the fight about? I heard Rockie got a beautiful black eye. I hope you weren’t involved in it. Were you?
How are you going to let me know when you’re coming home? Will you cable-gram me like Rockie is going to with Madeleine? Did you get your sharpshooter pin? If you did, what did you do with it? What other decorations did you get? Do you have any dress blues?
Did you know that Rockie sent us a picture of Pfc. George P. Chalator? He asked us if we knew any girl that he could write to. Rockie said that he’d give him my address, only you’re writing to me. I’d just as soon write to you anyway. Would you please ask Rockie if he thinks this is a lonely hearts club? Quote “If you have any heart trouble or if you are lonely write to Daigneault’s lonely hearts club.” Unquote. HA! HA! It’s a joke son.
That wasn’t so funny was it? I didn’t think so either. Well write soon and I hope you (amen) aren’t snowed under by all the questions but I hope you answer them all.
So long for now.
Cecile
