Dear Mom,
Got your letter the other day. Sure was glad to hear from you. It must be getting quite cold over there about now. It is getting rather chilly here, but as yet we have had no snow.
We are having a Thanksgiving party here on the 23rd. We will have turkey, cranberry sauce and all the trimmings. What are you doing on Thanksgiving?
Got a letter from Bernice the other day. She is going to send me some tobacco if it is not too hard to get around here.
Do you often here from Virg? I haven’t heard from him for quite some time. I am going to write him a letter some of these days. How is Grant and family getting along? He must be pretty busy.
Polly wrote to me the other day. She says that she and Paul are working these days pretty much. She said that they are building a room for me when I come to visit them.
This is quite a country over here. They drink a lot of cider. That is all you see them doing is picking apples. They seem to raise a lot of sugar beets. These are the first sugar beets I ever saw outside of England.
What is old Dude doing these days? Tell him if you see him that I am going to write him a letter some of these days.
Went out bike riding the other day. Rode around to a little town near here. Went about 30 Kilometers. Kinda tired when we got back. It has been raining to day here. We have rain about every day. I imagine that it is pretty nice over here in the summer time. Although I don’t think that it can top old Vt.
Well, guess that I have ran on about long enough so will close.
Lots of love,
John
