Dear Mom, Germany

As you can see by the return address, I am no longer in the old outfit. Sure did hate to leave them, but there was nothing anyone could do about it. Orders from higher Headquarters.

This is quite a country here in Germany. Quite a lot like New England, but hardly quite as cheerful!

This is a nice bunch of boys in this company, but nothing like the old boys I left.

Seems pretty good to have old Germany wiped off the list doesn’t it?

How is Grant getting along with the saw mill. Would like to be there to help him saw it.
