Letter number 62
Dear Billy,
The
reason for me not writing to you in quite a while is, I was ill [and] I was in
bed for about two weeks and the Doctor says it will be four weeks until I am
well- a touch of the flu. I am feeling much better now but weak, and I could
not eat, my head was very bad (terrible pain), but am well on the road to
recovery.
So
sorry you are not getting more mail and packages but never mind. Maybe after
this Christmas push it will get better. I do hope they have not been lost;
these packages I sent to England had golf balls in them.
Too
bad they could not have you in that nice hotel, the surroundings were so
pleasant and all. I feel bad about that but never mind, look out for your
health as best you can and perhaps before long you will be coming home to your
own little buddie. Harold is always betting when the
war will be over and I guess he always loses.
Love,
Ma
