Dear Bill,
Received your letters
of July 7th and all is well. Helen borrowed my 35MM camera and I’ve
written her to send it to you. I’ll shop around and get another one for myself.
So far the only one I’ve seen was eastman
kodak but that’s too much money. I have secured film
and am sending you enough for at least 400 pictures. Let me know whether you
want more and if you do, I’ll send it along. There is enough left out of the
$25 you’re sending to buy film for another 500 to 550 pictures but I didn’t get
any more because I figured I might just be flooding you with the stuff.
I haven’t received your
letter on UNRRA but I have been advised that no openings are available at
present no that’s out. Maybe it’s just as well.
Now about your leave? Are you going to England or better
France? I just came back from a ten day furlough as rather 10 days shortened to
7. Didn’t do much except take a trip to Atlantic City.
The
Port is sure changing, de-barks About my day and
nothing much else. Personnel is being shifted and
pretty soon I’ll be the old-timer of the place.
Harry
