Hello Joe,
Was very glad to hear from you and it made me happy to know that you are O.K. About your experiences at sea, don’t crack up Joe. I know you can take it for it runs in the family. I know it’s tough, but you can’t crack up now Joe, stick it out for I’ll be praying for you all the time Joe, and you do the same every chance you get and also go to mass.
Went to see Roger last week and guess what? He got married. How about that. She’s got five children and the youngest one is 19 years old and they treated me very nice when I was there. I try to see Geo Falad, but he didn’t meet me, so I went to see Roger.
I also called home and they told me that you had just called.
Everything is swell at home and when I was there, on furlough, I really had a good time.
I also stayed around the store a lot doing your old job of straightening up the bottles and carrying them to the basement. Boy, that basement sure looked good. It brought back old memories.
Well Joe, that’s about all the news for now, so all I can say now is be very careful in whatever you do and don’t lose your head, keep cool, and don’t get excited for Toney. And I have made plans for the future when this damn mess is over, soon I hope. Well Joe, here’s a picture of me. It’s right big. It’s the only one I had on hand.
So boy, take good care of yourself, and God speed and keep praying.
Brother
Ed
