Hello Joe.
Received your letter, and it sure did me happy to-hear-that, you were at home. So you are expecting to sail again soon, well Joe, God speed, and take good care of your self, and don’t be careless. I’ll be waiting for your letters, every day. So you are going to have a new crew, as gunnery, well boy, you know what to do, look, and see what going on.
I went to see Roger last week and guess what he got married also have five childrens the youngest is about, 20. I also had a good time while visiting them I think we might move out soon, but don’t know where, but, will let you know soon as possible. Well Joe, that’s all the news for now, so write soon, and take good care of yourself, and be sure in every thing you do.
