Dear Joe:
I will drop you a line or two to let you hear from me. How are you feeling? Fine I hope. My whole family is fine and your family is too. Journer is an Altar Boy now and so am I. Did you get the two Jap planes I told you to shoot down? It is dull around here. I know it is noisy on your ship. Sydnor’s son is over seas. I got [an] A on my report card. I am in the fourth grade. I don’t want to brag about myself but I think I am the smartest boy in the room. We have a new teacher and her name is Sister Irene. I hope you will have time to read my letter. We have a good basketball team this year. Johnny boy is the captain of the team. Our club dues are a quarter. I wish you could be in the club. Our treasurer is Johnny Boy. Our President is Charlie Dedeian. Don’t forget to bring the hat you promised me. Please don’t forget please. Write to me. Please don’t forget to write to me. If I can I will write you a letter as often as I can. Well Joe it is getting late and I must go to sleep because I have to go to work tomorrow morning. Good luck to you Joe.
Your friend Nick Simonowich
May God bless you.
